The Little Creek

by Shi Zheng

When I was a child, there was a little creek close to where I lived. It was situated on my way to preschool. I was four or five years old then, and every time I was supposed to cross that creek I became very nervous. I would take a deep breath and summon up all my courage tojump over it.

Last year I went back home for a visit. The creek was still there ! Yet it was no longer frightening to me because now I could simply step over it with ease. I had grown up.

Rongue, a psychologist, once said: "To most of the crucial problems in our life we do not usually have a solution. Finding a solution is not really what we want. What we want is to grow up. When we grow up, we elevate ourselves. Then, when we return to these problems, we will find that they are not really so much of a problem after all."
